here comes the sun // the sunshine blogger award, round 2

Hey y’all!

I’m super excited because today I am doing the Sunshine Blogger Award tag (again)! I’ve done it once before, but since my sweet friend Amelie tagged me, I thought why the heck not. ๐Ÿ˜€

So without any further adieu, let’s go!

~R U L E S~

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link back to their blog so others can find them.ย Thank you so much, Amelie!! Sorry that it took a hot second to get this written!! xD

2. List the rules and display an award logo on your blog post.

3. Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.

4. Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and notify them by commenting on any of their posts.

5. Ask the nominees 11 new questions.

~and now the questions!~

1 . Do you have a favorite authorโ€™s blog?

*cringes* oh noooo I don’t like this one. I have so many great writers who I follow and I hate choosing just one. I am gonna go with three… probably K.M. Weiland @ Helping Writers Become Authors, Sarah Baran @ The Sarcastic Elf, and last but certainly not least, Penny @ Jane Austen’s Lightsaber. They are all fantastic people who write blog posts I love to read. ๐Ÿ˜€

2 . Do you listen to music when you write or not?

Pretty much all the time. I only don’t listen to music if I have a really bad headache or I’m having a hard time focusing. Which is rare because music in ears = a good time for this writer. Overall, just… yes.

3 . What is your favorite fictional friendship?

Oh goodness… *immediately forgets every book she’s ever read* Uh oh this could be problematic. xD I’m going to list a few because my friendship-loving heart can’t take the stress of choosing its favorite.

Vin and Sazed (Mistborn by Branden Sanderson), Devin and Mikkel (The Viking Quest Series by Lois Walfrid Johnson), Dickon and Mary (The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett), Bingley and Darcy (Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen), Caleb and Jordan (Freedom Seekers Series by Lois Walfrid Johnson), Miri and Britta (Princess Academy by Shannon Hale), Creel and Marta (Dragon Slippers by Jessica Day George), Miss Prim and Horatio (The Awakening of Miss Prim by Natalia Sanmartin Fenollera), etc. etc. etc. ETC. THE LIST GOES ON….

4 . What is your favorite season?

I think my favorite season is fall. It’s getting colder, leaves, nice and cozy rainy afternoons with tea and books, S W E A T E R S… what more can I say?

5 . What is your favorite movie? (Series, like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings, count)

Oh you just picked hard questions, didn’t you… I’m gonna go with a small list in no order. Lord of the Rings, The Little Prince (I watched it a couple days ago and it’s already in my favorite list) Tolkien, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, Ratatouille, Beauty and the Beast (original 1991 for me, thanks!). If this list doesn’t give you a picture about the type of movie I like, I don’t know what does. ๐Ÿ˜€

6 . How many siblings do you have?

One. I have a brother who is three years younger. He is pretty great, if I do say so myself. He is almost as tall as me (if not taller) and I have begun to freak out about that… XD

7 . Do you like coffee or tea better?

I like both! Tea is my go-to for like casual drinking, probably because it is a little less work for me. ๐Ÿ™‚ It is relaxing and has less intense of a flavor profile, making it an easier drink to absentmindedly sip. That being said, I LOVE coffee. Although sometimes my friends laugh at me because I am one of those people that has some coffee with their creamer sooooo…

8 . In what month is your birthday?

May! I’m a May baby! *throws flower petals*

9 . Do you want to be a published author someday?

Actually, I kind of am? Going to be? I wrote a devotional for my church prayer ministry and it’s going to be published in the little handbook thing for Wednesday nights! It hasn’t happened yet, but when it does, I will definitely be saying something here! I’m assuming you meant actual novels, though, and to answer that, I would say 100% yes. It would be mind-blowing for that to happen.

10 . What is your favorite fruit?

Watermelon!

11 . Stainless steel or plastic water bottles?

Interesting question! I think probably stainless steel because if you get the right kind, they don’t get condensation on the outside of the bottle. I kinda hate that. It’s even worse when it slides of the sides of your bottle and leaks on the surface you set it on. I would like my water contained the bottle, thank you, not extra on the outside. XD

These questions were so good, Amelie!!! Thank you!! Now, I have done this before and tagged eleven (I think) bloggers. I don’t know enough people to tag for it that haven’t already done it, so it is free to any bloggers reading this post, I guess! ๐Ÿ™‚ Let me know in the comments if you do decide to do it, please!!

~my questions~

  1. what personality type are you? (mbti, enneagram, etc.)
  2. what is the one song you listen to when you need a pick-me-up?
  3. what is your work style? organized and goal-driven? or spontaneous and sporadic until the deadline?
  4. how would you describe your writing?
  5. favorite writing quote?
  6. how do you procrastinate writing? (come on, we all do it)
  7. plotter or pantser, and explanation as to why?
  8. favorite childhood tv show? if you don’t have one, favorite childhood book?
  9. writing manifesto?
  10. what is your favorite WIP/past work?
  11. pineapple on pizza? yes or no, and why?

That’s all folks! My best friend is going to guest post next week with a really great post!!! You’ll really like it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Now go forth, mis amigos and amigas, and smile. Your day is just beginning. Make the best of it. Don’t procrastinate. Work hard. Make me proud. ๐Ÿ™‚

Love you all,

Madeleine

  1. Ahhh, I love this post, Madeleine!!! Thanks for doing it!!! (I am SO sorry for the late reply! I’ve had so much craziness in my life lately, and I’m just getting back to the blogging universe!)

I also have SO MANY author’s blogs that I love. I was mainly curious what ones other people love! I always love finding new blogs! YES, Penny’s blog is DA BOMB. ๐Ÿ™‚ I haven’t read much of K.M. Weiland or Sarah, but I’ll have to check them out!

I don’t really know if I can listen to music while writing because I’ve just never tried it! I guess I’ve always assumed I can’t, for some weird reason…but I have to try it! ๐Ÿ™‚

DICKON AND MARY!!! And YES, Bingley and Darcy!!! (I’m reading the unabridged Pride and Prejudice for the first time this year, and I’m SO excited! I read an abridged version when I was younger and loved it, so I can’t wait to read the “actual” version!)

FALL!! *high-five* SWEATERS ARE AMAZING. Afternoons with tea and books…for sure, for sure!! So many things to love about fall.

Ahhh, Lord of the Rings are my FAVORITE MOVIES EVER. And I LOVE Beauty and the Beast (original) so much, too! Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin are definitely my favorite Disney movies.

Coffee and tea are both amazing. I love coffee, but I do have it without any creamer or anything if I’m drinking it at home (my friends and cousin think I’m insane…XD).

Congratulations on the devotional!!! That is such an amazing opportunity.

Yessss, watermelon is delicious! My favorite fruits are bananas, blackberries, and cantaloupe. ๐Ÿ™‚

Stainless steel is my favorite, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks again, Madeleine! I loved reading your answers!! (Sorry for the suuuper long comment…XD)
