capax infiniti // unplanned, but serendipitous

Hey y’all!

I’m sitting here with a nice cup of green tea, all cozy and warm whilst it’s absolutely freezing outside. I thought it would be a nice thing if we chat about books. Yes? Doesn’t that sound lovely? I think so too. Grab your favorite warm beverage or cold beverage if you so choose let’s not be excluding, snuggle into a warm something, and let’s talk!

I specifically want to talk about a little side project I’m working on right now. It’s called Capax Infiniti and I think it’s about time I brought it to the surface. Lemme tell you a story…

It all started because of my best friend.

*glares*

You know how sometimes you’ll be walking along a beautiful garden path somewhere inside your brain, minding your own business, listening to the idea birds sing in the trees, feeling the plot wind blow through your hair…

That’s when a friend jumps out of nowhere and brings her air horn of inspiration out, unleashing it to run wild around your cerebrum.

I tried to fight the new storyline, I really did. But her ideas were too strong for me. I had to write them. Jaxen protested. Artemis screamed. Coran cried. And yet, Capax beckoned me.

Welcome to the world of Capax Fernsby, friends.

A wonderland of ruined cathedrals covered in bomb shrapnel and climbing ivy, this is the world of two miserable factions; at war since the very beginning. The Breakaways and the Advocates have been fighting for dominance of the Fhelariin high city, Cwitherofe. Why? No one really knows. But everyone’s previous generations have done it. No one will rebel against tradition.

Meet Capax, the boy who was dragged into the fight only a few years prior. It’s common knowledge around the Breakaway base that this Cwithe commander escaped from the capital around the time of the invasion. No one knew why it happened, but the boy was quick on his feet and good with a gun.  He was also smart; rare for his age, he knew how to use and program high-level tech.

On the brink of the most critical battle in the standing history of the feud (wow so many prepositional phrases), the Breakaways are plotting a way to gain the figurative high ground. Eager to lead the excursion, Capax volunteers himself and his reserved friend, Terralynn. She is one of the leading intel and recon commanders, but never leaves the base, because she says there are stronger people who can go do that. When Capax volunteers her along with him, she sort of objects to the idea, but she trusts him.

There is danger, and Terralynn sees that, but she hopes that Capax has planned for it.

They all hope he has planned for it.

Good news: he did.

Bad news: for most of it.

Okay let’s be honest, that synopsis is amazing. That took me like three days to come up with. I’m so proud of it. 😀

I obviously haven’t figured out all of the details yet, but I have a basic framework! And a couple pages of writing! So it’s exciting!

Actually, today might be a short post, due to lack of info to share as well as I didn’t really plan well XD I went to see Elevation Worship last night with some friends (it was freaking amazing if you’re wondering) and I’m exhausted as well as voice-deprived. That’s a tangent for another time. Sorry. BACK TO OUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAM…

if we make it to the end of this, I’ll tell you a good story. XD

ANywayyyys… Capax Infiniti!

Let’s talk about the characters! Yes? Yes.

If we’re talking about this project, we obviously have to talk about Capax. Duh. Here’s a collage:

capax
**note: I do not own any pictures here**

First order of business: he’s a cutie like, for real, dude. Oof.

For those of you who find it helpful, he is a Type 3 and an ESTJ. This just means that he is a hard worker who is image driven. More explained, not in my words.

“Type 3: Threes are self-assured, attractive, and charming. Ambitious, competent, and energetic, they can also be status-conscious and highly driven for advancement. They are diplomatic and poised, but can also be overly concerned with their image and what others think of them.”

“ESTJ: efficient, outgoing, analytical, systematic, dependable, realistic. Like to run the show and get things done in an orderly fashion.”

Capax is gonna be a fun character to write. I’ve never done someone like this before and it’s always exciting to write a new type like this.

LET’S TALK ABOUT THE REAL REASON Y’ALL ARE HERE: TERRALYNN.

she

is

an

angel.

terralynn
**again I don’t own these**

Aghhhhh she’s so pretty. She’s a real sweetheart, too.

“Type 6: The committed, security-oriented type. Sixes are reliable, hard-working, responsible, and trustworthy. Excellent “troubleshooters,” they foresee problems and foster cooperation, but can also become defensive, evasive, and anxious—running on stress while complaining about it. They can be cautious and indecisive, but also reactive, defiant and rebellious. They typically have problems with self-doubt and suspicion.”

“ISFP: gently, sensitive, nurturing, helpful, flexible, realistic. Seek to create a personal environment that is both beautiful and practical.”

Those aren’t my words but it’s exactly what I would have said. This is Terralynn to the very last detail. I can’t wait to write her. She’s so sweet and I relate to most parts of her personality, despite the fact that I am an INFJ and very much Type 4. XD

Well, so that’s all I have for you guys today! Now I gotta go do extra homework because our school got canceled due to winter storm warnings. I’m so excited to stay home today!! 😉

Oh yeah the story I was gonna tell you guys earlier is that at the concert last night, they were scanning people and checking bags and security stuff at the door. Let me be very clear: I appreciate the fact that they do that everywhere now, because it keeps us safe. But I really really really REAAAAALLY do not like those security checks at all. It’s kinda like driving past a policeman when you are going the speed limit. You know you’re doing everything right but you still get nervous. That’s the same with this. I don’t carry weaponry, so technically I should be fine.

Apparently, my love of these security checks shone through on my face. Because the dude who was checking my bag looks at me as he’s handing it back and he goes

“You just give me the evil eye??”

I swear. I have no memory of making a face. Just me handing this older gentleman my bag to check. Soon enough, he’s accusing me of glaring at him. And according to my mom (and my friends… Thank you, guys…), I probably did it without thinking about it just because I hate it so much. WOOOOOOOOOO I CAN’T CONTROL MY FACE MUSCLES APPARENTLY.

Anyways… that’s your story for the morning. XD

Now go forth, mis amigos and amigas, and smile. Your day is just beginning. Make the best of it. Don’t procrastinate. Work hard. Make me proud. 🙂

Love you all,

Madeleine ❤
