Hey y’all!
MERRRRRRRRY CHRISTMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!!!! I hope you are having a great day with your families!
A few days ago, my sweet friend Liv tagged me for a Christmas post, so I figured it’d be a lovely thing to do it today. (I mean obviously because tomorrow Christmas will be over *goes and cries in corner*)
So let’s dive into the beautiful holiday tag! *dives in*
Thank you, dear Olivia!!! *hugs and kisses*
The Rules!
- You must thank the person who nominated you
- Link back to the original post (the one on this blog) and use the graphic provided.
- Answer the questions given
- Nominate at least 3 people. (or more if you’re feeling like a nice person)
- Give the nominees 10 questions to answer (or use the ones previously given)
- HAVE FUN!
What is the craziest Christmas present you have ever given someone?
Oh my goodness… I’m not much of a crazy gift giver… The closest thing I’ve ever gotten to giving a crazy gift happened one year when I wanted to give someone old socks and a card saying “it’s the thought that counts”. I’m a thoughtful child.
What do you love most about Christmas?
I think the thing that I love most about Christmas is the reality that Jesus had a plan to come down to the very depths of our broken humanity and save us. That’s the coolest part about Christmas. All of the other things we have nowadays are great and all of that, but honestly the fact that God had a plan to send His son into the world is quite possibly the coolest thing ever.
What is your favorite Christmas movie?
Okay either The Muppet Christmas Carol or Elf. Probably Muppets. I was raised on Muppets. I don’t know. Will Ferrell is pretty great as Buddy too… Who knows. We may never know.
If someone asked you what Christmas was about, how would you explain it?
If someone asked me that, I would say that Christmas is the time when Christ-Followers remember the moment in history when God became a man to walk among us and become the atonement for our brokenness.
What Christmas traditions would you like to keep (or start) with your children? (If you ever have any)
OOOOOH. I haven’t thought about that. (which is weird because I normally have thought about that type of stuff.) To me, the one tradition that matters to me the most would be reading the Christmas story in the Gospels and discussing the true meaning of the holiday. Also, making food. We will always make food. Annnnnnd speaking of…
What’s your favorite Christmas dessert or food?
Okay, so my family has this jello recipe we have passed around from my dad’s side of the family. It’s raspberry jello with apples, oranges, and pomegranates chopped up finely and mixed into it. It’s really really good.
What is your favorite Christmas song, and why?
One of my favorite Christmas albums is “Prepare Him Room: Celebrating the Birth of Jesus in Song” by Sovereign Grace Music. I love all of the songs on the album, but since you asked for my favorite song, I’d have to go with Before The Skies. It’s a beautiful duet and dives deeper into the birth of Jesus and not just the literal coming of Jesus. It talks about how God had planned this Rescue from the very beginning.
What is your favorite Christmas related blog post or article that you have read this year?
Oooooh, this is really hard, Liv!! It’s going to have to be a tie between Advent Reflections: Jesus the Forever King by my friend Grace at True And Pure and Longing For a King by my friend Abigail at Spiritsong. They’re both fantastic!
How much do you like to decorate?
Here’s the thing; I really like decorated spaces. I really do. I appreciate the effort that it takes to keep it that way and to get there in the first place. But sometimes I don’t have the patience to make it like that myself? Am I the only one like that? I guess sometimes if I really want it to be decorated I will, but not usually. 😀
What do you think about snow?
*T E R R I F I E D S C R E A M I N G*
Please, no snow. I was raised in California where people are freaking out when it rains. I then moved to Pennsylvania where we got four feet of snow one time. I have been emotionally scarred by snow. No more snow. XD
So that was the tag! Thank you again, Olivia! That was super fun!
I understand that it literally is Christmas today, but I’m still gonna tag people. I believe that Christmas is a mindset, not just a holiday. XD
TAGGING:
Abigail @ Spiritsong
Grace @ Tizzie’s Tidbits of Truth
Abby @ When Words Fly
*Do not feel pressured to do the tags, my dears.
QUESTIONS:
- What is one thing that you were looking forward to this Christmas season?
