december favorites // a collection of lovelies from the twelveth month

Hey y’all!!!

As it is now December 18th, I figured it’d be a nice thing to do one of the posts I do occasionally. The last one I did was summarizing September, so it’s been a while!

So much has happened since then, so I thought I’d give a quick little update. For one thing, if you haven’t been around for a while, I won NaNoWriMo! I also finished my little blog series on 9/11! Something really cool happened with a project of mine and although I can’t quite tell y’all yet, an update will be coming in the new year.  😉 It’s a secret.

I know December isn’t over yet, but the holidays get C R A Z Y and I’m traveling for Christmas so that kind of automatically fries my brain. I might as well do it now, especially since I have so much to share with y’all! Let’s dive into the beautiful madness!

Top December Thingins!

me and rays of sunshine coming to smack a smile on your face. ❤

1. sleep.

That sounds so lame but literally, after staying up till 3am every night for the entire last week of November, sleep has been one of my favorite things. It’s been very nice. Okay moving on, because I promise, they do get more interesting. Don’t close the tab. 😉

2. my superb Christmas sweatshirt

enough said.

So… yeah. I might be wearing this forever. It’s a freaking dinosaur in a Santa hat. Holding a UFO. By a Christmas tree. I love it so much. XD

3. the character cookie

IMG_6042

My family and I made cookies and I made one representing the physical torment I put my characters through. My family didn’t find it as funny as I did… *sigh* my poor baby characters…

4. these beautiful little artisticy and feel-good things

Something about the shark made me laugh and feel fuzzy at the same time. I don’t know why. And the painting one with ‘brighter and more beautiful’ is just gorgeous. ❤

4. a sky poem!

I’m a sucker for sky-related things, man.

5. the bandito experience

6. free as a bird lyrics

IMG_6096

One of my sweet sweet friends down here was creating a lyric picture frame for me as a present for Christmas. As she was praying for what to use, she heard these lyrics from one of my favorite songs by the amazing band Rend Collective. Now it sits on my dresser so I can see it when I get ready for school. I love it more than she knows. The song has always meant so much to me, and now I get to see it every day. A+ gift idea, twin. Bravo. 🙂 You can find the song here.

7. drown

I have made my love for twenty one pilots known pretty well, but this past month I really have been into one of Tyler Joseph’s earliest songs. There are plenty of youtube videos that have the song, but honestly, my favorite is here. I just like the water picture and the font style. The lyrics are so beautiful and one of the few songs that he wrote directly to Jesus. I get chills every time I listen to it.

8. haircut!!

I got a much-needed haircut! It had been a year and a half and when I would sit cross-legged, it would be touching my thighs. No joke. That is how long my hair was. I got fed up with it. It was getting annoying. So I killed it. And made it look and feel so much better.

also now I can properly do Rey hair

9. student worship team Christmas party

Sunday night, my brother and I went to our high school/middle school worship team’s Christmas party. It was awesome. We made gingerbread houses and watched Elf. I love that movie, to begin with, but it’s even better when you add a whole bunch of people who you love hanging out with.

10. this beautiful video

I love watching this with headphones with the volume turned a bit too high. It’s super calming, and while that was the point of the video, dude it really hit me. His voice is one of the best things ever. I love this channel so I’d also recommend that as well. 🙂

Okay, that was really fun!! I hope you guys enjoyed this.

ONE WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!!!!

*throws red and green confetti everywhere*

Now go forth, mis amigos and amigas, and smile. Your day is just beginning. Make the best of it. Don’t procrastinate. Work hard. Make me proud. 🙂

Love you all,

Madeleine
