Hey y’all!
A couple of weeks ago, my sweet friend, Charis, did a little thing called the “ask a reader” tag. I was very intrigued by it, and as she left an open invitation to anyone who wanted to do it, I decided that it would be SUPER fun if I did it on my blog! (if you wanna read her answers, here’s a link!)
Let the bookishness commence!!
1. What sparked your love for reading?
Ooh… I don’t really know! I’ve been a reader for as long as I can remember. But if I have to answer, I would say that my mom and grandma have been extremely influential in my love/obsession with books. 🙂 so thanks for that guys XD
2. Where do you get your books?
This depends. My family is one that relies heavily on Amazon, so I’d say that is my primary source. That being said, I absolutely love bookshops. Like, if you take me to one just for fun, it is pretty much guaranteed that I will love you forever. Libraries are also a favorite but I use them less frequently than the others.
3. Where do you read?
Oohhh I like this question. Okay, I have many, but my top two are in my little reading/writing room and on my bed. Here are the pictures of my little room! It’s like one of my favorite things about the new house. 🙂
4. When do you read?
Most of the time, it’s late at night. Because I’m a night owl. And reading at night is awesome. Also, it’s when I have the most time.
5. What genres do you read?
Oohhh hard one. I read a wide variety of genres, but my absolute favorite is fantasy (think like Lord of The Rings and The Ranger’s Apprentice type stuff). I also enjoy books on writing so… is that a genre?
6. What are your favorite childhood reads?
Awww. When I was little, I loved the Fairy books (you know like the ones that were like “Sophie the Cake Fairy” or whatever. I made that title up but you know what I mean 😀 ), Magic Tree House, and the American Girl books.
7. What are your favorite books?
I have the longest list and even then it changes so here are some of my favorites… because I can’t list them all… A Wrinkle In Time, Les Miserables, Ranger’s Apprentice, Pride & Prejudice, the Viking Quest series, Anne Of Green Gables (especially Anne Of The Island), Beauty (by Robin McKinley), Princess Academy… the list goes on…
8. Do you read fast or slow?
It depends on the book XD But for the most part, I’m a fairly fast reader.
9. Do you set reading goals? What are they?
Well, currently my goals are non-existent. Because I don’t set goals… 🙂
10. How do you track your reads?
Technically, I should be writing a list, but I never really do that…….. *uncomfortable cough*
11. Do you binge read?
Heck yes. I read a whole series in a night once. It’s so fun. You are dead in the morning but it’s worth it.
12. Do you fall in love with characters?
um. yes. *screeeeeeech* Of course, I fall in love with characters. All the time. Book crushes are the best. Almost as good as shipping. (keyword: almost.) My book crushes include: CALVIN O’KEEFE (!!!!!) (A Wrinkle In Time), Marius (Les Miserables), Peder (Princess Academy), Luka (Dragon Slippers), Devin (the Viking Quest series), Mikkel (the Viking Quest series), Caleb (the Freedom Seekers series), GILBERT BLYTHE (Anne Of Green Gables) (because duhhh)…
The list goes on for miles…
13. Do you buddy read?
Mm not really. I like to read at my fast pace. Which I’ve been told is hard to keep up with. Soooo…
14. Do you re-read?
All the time. Currently, I’m re-reading the first Ranger’s Apprentice book and gonna keep moving up through the rest of them.
15. What is the best thing about being a reader?
Well, I don’t know about you, but I don’t live an insane, adventurous life with daring acts of magic and miracles. It’s why I love reading. I can experience those things without having to live through all the pain and stress. XD It’s awesome. I can live a million different lives.
So did you like this tag? I’m including the list of questions that were used if you want to take part in the fun!

I have read a lot of classics recently- summer/Christmas: due to being a college student at the time, that was the only time I had for them.
Classics I have read for fun recently (2015-now): Don Quixote, Les Misérables, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Oliver Twist, A Christmas Carol, Tale of Two Cities, Great Expectations, Nicholas Nickleby- loved all of them
I own eight other classics- seven of those a good family friend gave me
Fantasies I love (Yes, I am 24, and I do love some children’s fantasies): Lord of the Rings series, Uprooted, Land of Stories series, Sister Grimm series, Avalon series, Harry Potter series, Chronicles of Narnia series.
On a side note: I am attempting to write a children’s fantasy
