We Are Nameless // Announcement + Interview With Band Member Elizabeth Meinders

Hey y’all!!

I got some exciting news for you guys!! My friend and I have officially launched our band!!!

*CONFETTI CANNONS EXPLODE FROM ALL SIDES*

*screams into my pillow*

It’s been a long time coming and I’ve been waiting forever to tell you guys! Here’s a little history!

We started back in September ’17, but we actually started moving towards the public in 2018. I know that Elizabeth writes songs like constantly, but in September I wrote a song and sent it to her and she was like “Oh my gosh Maddy we could actually do something with all of this.”

After a while of songwriting and strenuous dreaming, we had a solid number of songs to record. The only problem was when. See, I live in Tennessee, and she lives all the way in California. That’s a long way away. But we could make it work.

So this past week, she came out to visit me. We were so pumped. We got our YouTube channel started and we started filming ourselves. Things are going great. Even though Elizabeth is home now, we have plans to make this work.

Man, I’m so freaking excited. It’s the coolest thing ever. I love it. To kick things off, I’m going to be talking a little with my dear friend and bandmate, Elizabeth!

youtube header SO IT FITS

M: So, what three things should people know about our band, We Are Nameless?

E: Number one, we’re a Christian band. First and foremost, that’s who we are. We might not explicitly write worship songs all the time, but we want to stay Christ-centered.

M: I 100% agree.

E: Second, we’re a girl duo!! I think that’s cool because a lot of the duos you hear about are guys doing things and that’s cool, but I think we need more positive female friendships out there. 🙂

M: Yep. Once again, I agree. Not like Tyler and Josh or Dan and Phil aren’t enough, but you can’t really name female friendships out there anymore.

E: Okay and thirdly, we’re young, and we live across the country from each other. Might seem obvious, but it just means everything we’re doing has the added challenge of two separate busy high school schedules and a three hour time change. Our goal is consistency, but be patient with us as we get started and figure this whole thing out.

M: I completely agree with this one. We’re gonna try our hardest, but do remember that long distance is hard. 🙂 patience is key.

What can people expect from us? By that I mean, describe us in a few words. It’d be awful to have people be caught off guard. 😉

E: Ooh okay, hm. Fun, acoustic, friendly, able to not take ourselves seriously.

M: *snorts with laughter* That is pretty much us. Yep.
