Hey y’all!
*climbs out of bunker*
*slams door behind me*
*dances around a little*
I’M ALIVE.
I know, I know. I have been posting the past few weeks, so what’s the big deal? I understand your confusion. I have felt a lot of confusion lately XD. I just wanted to take some time today and talk a little bit about what I’ve been doing and what I’m planning for the next few weeks/months! It feels right to do today because (glorious day!)Β everything is starting to settle in!!! Woo!
So with that said, I’m gonna start telling y’all what’s up!Β
Around three weeks ago, we moved to the South. Things have been crazy since then, but they are starting to settle down again. At the beginning of July, I went to Kansas City for the EFCA Challenge conference. And honestly, it changed my life. It was a deep and meaningful experience, and I met a few people from my new church who I really am excited about.
School is starting in less than two weeks and I’m kinda stressing about that, but I know that I will get into the groove of that soon. Hopefully, when I get used to the routine I’ll be able to focus on writing more.
Through all of this insanity, I’ve been learning more and more that God has put me here in the South for a reason. I hadn’t doubted it before, but it just keeps getting clearer. I don’t want to go to much into this now, but if you are going through a season of life where you feel alone, broken, unloved, unwelcome, etc; let me tell you, friend, God is gonna make the other side so good. I’ve been dragged through a season of pain, but as far as I know, it’s coming to an end and I’m noticing I’m stronger in my faith for it.
Guys, as powerful as pain is, God is even more powerful and is going to use your pain in one glorious tapestry of a story. It always amazes me how each of us gets our own story tapestry, but each one is woven to point the glory back to Him. It’s awesome. I love seeing other people’s stories. Maybe it’s because I’m a sentimental writer, maybe it’s because I just love things like this. π
Okay well, let’s talk about writing!
*squeals and bounces around with pens and pencils and computers and ideas exploding out of canons (ehehehe see what I did)*
You will hear more about this soon, but I’ve begun planning a new story! It’s an idea I’ve been toying with for a while now and I’m super excited to start exploring it more! Not going to share a lot about it right now, but one thing I will tell you: it’s a genre I haven’t really dabbled in before. So that’s super exciting!
And update on The Wolf Of Talfryn, I believe I’m done with the first round of alpha-ing. So I’m probably going to begin running back through the draft and finish the edits before I move on to a new draft. I don’t really know at this point. XD It’s hard balancing things. All the church things with worship teams and youth groups, and then school stuff soon, and just basic life tasks. I don’t know π I’m handling life well. π
Guys. Have yβall seen the Young Writer Revolution videos yet??? They are so flipping good and inspirational. I started crying. It was so encouraging. Go watch them.Β Here. Please go watch them. β€
Also, this isn’t super important, but I’m slowly becoming obsessed with the musical Finding Neverland. Like. It’s so good. I recommend it. 10/10. π β€ Especially if you go find the youtube videos with freaking Jeremy Jordan as J.M. Barrie. You won’t know you needed it until you find it.
But tread carefully, it’ll wreck you. It’s an emotional rollercoaster. XD
Well, that’s my update! I’m glad we’ve had this talk! I like you guys a lot and you are all so awesome and supportive. You rock.
Now go forth, mis amigos and amigas, and smile. Your day is just beginning. Make the best of it. Don’t procrastinate. Work hard. Make me proud. π
Love you all,
Madeleine
I’m glad you’re back! π I am also glad you’re writing is going well. I just finished plotting draft 3 of my book, and have begun writing it. After hours and hours of plotting (literally, almost 20. It was intense because I hate plotting. *hysterical laughter in the background*) it feels super weird to finally write. π
