New Home // A Poem I Wrote Amidst Change

Hey y’all!

Okay so today I don’t have much planned, because I’m a loser XD But I did want to share with you a piece of poetry that I wrote a couple weeks back. It was written as I moved to the South, and it holds a lot of what my mind was going through. I know it’s not much, but seeing as I’m trying to settle into a new house and get everything ready before school starts (ewwwwwwww), I figured you’d allow it. 🙂

Enjoy! ❤

It’s a funny thing when
you leave a place
you’ve
grown used to.

Change the old and
make the new
explode
inside your mind.

Once frequently traveled paths
have disappeared
entirely,
never to be
seen again.

My mind is spinning
falling
d r  o   p    p     i       n         g
don’t know where to look.

Should I hide inside the familiar
tropes that have held
me
softly?

Not here but not there,
a wanderer
whose home has been
lost.

Restless and unable
to connect with
the
fresh start.

God, help me grow my
r o  o   t    s
deep and dark
where
no one will move
me.
