Ten Things I Absolutely Loved From The Month of May

Hey y’all!

This week has been a little less insane than the last, which has been really nice. And while we’re not quite ready to move yet, things are getting closer and closer!! *squeals*

As those of you who own a calendar probably know, this is the last Tuesday of the month. So as a wrap-up/highlighty post, I’m going to give a list of my favorite things from this past month. Let’s dive right in! We’re gonna start at 10 and go down from there because why not, right?

10. I went to Monticello!!

It is probably one of my favorite historical sites. While it was hot, muggy, and not air-conditioned (because duh) I loved being able to go back and visit again. (yes I’ve been before) Pictures are below…

I call this one Red Dirt, Sky Blue Converse, and Embroidered Roses.

*sings* Thomas Jefferson’s comin’ hoooooooooooome

9. Aesthetic pretty feelings like this.

I’m a sucker for pretty things. And aesthetic-y things. Basically, I’m just a sucker. *cough*

^^^ so relatable.

Isn’t this so pretty? *dies*

^^^ This is honestly one of my favorite things ever. I love the “types of people” posts. I’m a strange mix of piano and ukulele.

8. Stay Awake (album) by Joseph.

This is slowly becoming one of my top albums right now. My fav is either “Planets” or “50, 60, 80”. As much as I enjoy the other two albums, this one has a more organic and chill feel. It’s pretty simplistic and is really soothing to listen to. (THEIR VOICES THOUGH)

7. This absolutely beautiful video from the wonderfully talented Anthony Rosenthal and Chaz Wolcott from the tour cast of Newsies.

Literally y’all this is sooooo (cute!) good. This is almost as good as watching Ben Cook and Sky Flaherty dance. I’m unabashedly a fansie. You’re welcome.

6. My new “nostalgia” playlist.

This is pretty much just a mess of super old Disney songs from movies I constantly watched and Disneyland attractions I loved as a small child. Hey, it might sound strange but it makes me literally so happy. Favorite song: it’s a tie between Main Title (The Second Star To The Right) from Peter Pan and When You Wish Upon A Star from Pinocchio.

5. Outlining Your Novel by K.M. Weiland (so good go check her out)

I’m loving this book. It’s crazily helpful and it’s taking all that is within me to not start a brand new project and I am having to force myself to focus and finish the ones I’m in the middle of. Definitely go check her out.

4. My brand new pastel blue high tops!!

This could be weird but these shoes are one of my favorite things now. If I had an Instagram account, these would be making appearances. Just realized that I already showed you, but here look again.

3. This YouTube channel.

Both of these videos have impacted me in ways I would not have expected. The art and the words flow so well together, it’s amazing.

2. Hanging out/researching for a non-existent novel/doing an impromptu photo shoot in Gettysburg.

I love Gettysburg. So good. I always get emotional because it’s so powerful. Always wear waterproof makeup, guys. *snorts* Credits to my father on some of these beauties. ⇓

This is a statue of a super cool dude named Governor Warren. This was on Little Round Top. He was so awesome he got a freaking statue. I want a statue… That’d be cool.

Me working on my modeling career… with a green lens flare thingy…

My brother demonstrating the symbolism of the gap between the generations and how the Civil War has affected modern day life… with some lady who photobombed… I’m not bitter…

Heeeeeeere we go. No green dot or elderly ladies. Looking good, boy.

1. Lately, I’ve started reading The Ranger’s Apprentice series by John Flanagan.

*inhales normally*

*screech*

IT’S SO GOOOOOOOD. (also please don’t spoil anything I just finished the third one and I have to get some more!!) ((my inner bookdragon would like to mention that when I finished the second book, I literally chucked the book across the room and hyperventilated into my blanket. Whilst screaming in my head. Because it was nighttime. And people were sleeping.))

Well, this has been super fun!! It was a pretty chill Tuesday.

OH.

*weird/lame announcer voice* I would now like to draw your attention to the top of my website. Notice anything different? *pauses like in Blues Clues, waiting breathlessly for answer*

That’s right!! I added a logo-type thing!!! Ain’t it purty?

Also, on a new note: I added a new page! The Wolf Of Talfryn now has its own little page! You can follow my progress and see updates!

Now go forth, mis amigos and amigas, and smile. Your day is just beginning. Make the best of it. Don’t procrastinate. Work hard. Make me proud. 🙂

Love you all,

Madeleine

Tell me about some of your favorite things!!!

  1. I LOVE Ranger’s Apprentice!!!! 😃 I have the whole series! *screeches*
Okay here’s a tip: read the series in this order: 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, and then 12. The thing is about book 7 is that John Flanagan realized that he should probably address some stuff, and so he wrote that one on a timeline where it comes before books 5 and 6. 😛 (I didn’t know when I read, but while reading the book knew it would be so much better if I’d done it in that order 😂)
COFFEE. COFFEE. THE COFEE. THE HORSES. HALT! BOWS AND ARROWS.
I’m sorry but it’s hard to find other people who are big fans 😂 (I’m slowly getting my friends to read them though 😈)

  3. Ok, that’s weird, I was reading RA right before I read this post. 😆 I’ve read 1-6 so far. They make me wish it was acceptable to wear cloaks and boots and carry a bow everywhere.
