Hey y’all!
This week was a really good week for me. Maybe it was my birthday earlier, maybe it was the house inspection. Who knows?
What’s that? What did you say? “House inspection?” Is that what I heard?
YES!!!! THAT’S WHAT YOU HEARD!!!! We are officially moving down South! The house is beautiful and I am looking forward to all the new friends I will make.
While we were down for the house inspection, the high school and middle school ministries at my new church were having a worship night. Because of me going to be there permanently in a couple weeks, my mom suggested that my brother and I go and get used to it a bit more.
Even though it was kinda awkward at first, I found people I knew (partially) and sat down with them. And guys, let me tell you, I’m so glad I went.
It started out with a song* and I was expecting another one to follow. But after the first song, the stage went dark and a video started playing. I don’t know what I was expecting, but it wasn’t that 😀 and it kinda surprised me. But, like many things I’ve experienced, almost instantly I was enthralled.
It was a spoken word piece set to animation.
My heart was immediately connected and intent on soaking in every word I heard.
You see, I’m someone who finds worth in words. I don’t know if you can tell, but it’s kind of a passion of mine. 😉 Now when someone infuses a powerful message with poetry or the like, I’m sorry, but no matter how you try, you will not be able to break my concentration/attraction to the said source of poetry**.
This was what happened. This connection grew as suddenly as the video had started. This one simple video practically brought me to tears. This is why I love words. Words have a secret power. Of course, you can use them for both good and bad, but when used for good… my goodness. THEY BE POWERFUL Y’ALL.
* DUDE SIDE NOTE: my new church high school room has some sick volume levels… like… it was so good.
** Actually I take it back… an emergency might… like a fire or something. Anyway 😉
YHWH – the YHWH Project (this was just my favorite part. I’ll include the link to the full version.)
I bring the you you have never quite met
I am the desire that keeps your pillow wet
I am the heartbeat you seek when you chase after dreams
In the reachings and the sighs you are looking for Me
I apologize for the length of this post. I’m not even gonna make excuses. Life is life. Thank you for your patience just the same!
As an added gift to y’all for dealing with my short-post-shenanigans, here is another spoken word by the same guy. This one actually made me break down sobbing. It was that. good. Beware 😉
Now go forth, mis amigos and amigas, and smile. Your day is just beginning. Make the best of it. Don’t procrastinate. Work hard. Make me proud. 🙂
Love you all,
Madeleine
