Sibling Poetry!

Hey y’all!!

Today is my little brother’s birthday!! *blows party horn and runs around with crazy loud music* Last night, I wrote a poem blindly on a scrap of paper (like maaaaaany of my poems that happen at night…) and thought I would share it because why not? Y’all like poetry, yes? Good! So without further ado… a little poem I wrote for him.

Sweet, sweet blue eyes filled with excitement and adventure.

Tell me about the worlds you imagine.

Tell me about the things you will do.

I know someday you will change someone’s world.

You are a leader. You will light someone’s way.

Oh, if only you knew the power you hold.

Pick up your sword, dear one!

There is a dragon around the bend, waiting for you.

Pay him no mind, friend. He’s already defeated.

All you have to do is look up.

Nose in books, mind in the clouds.

Caring little boy.

I’d write you a never-ending series, one that would last you a good while.

One you could breathe in.

One you could eat up.

Turn your eyes upon him, little Twelve!

He guides you and makes your paths straight.

Ah! That’s a thought.

Hoist up your shield and charge down the path in the dark forest!

Hold up your lantern!

The shadows of the trees and demons will not phase you, warrior.

Sweet, sweet blue eyes filled with excitement and adventure.

You will conquer anything you set your mind to, with your good King’s help.

I may hold your hand for now, but someday you will be taller than me, and the King will hold your hand.

Keep the faith, dear one.

I’ll always love you, and He will too.
